In the prenatal visit we meet to determine the support you need and create a personalized plan for the immediate postpartum time. If you desire, we come for a second prenatal visit to help prepare for baby's arrival. We will help you create a list of baby/mother care and feeding supplies (breast and bottle), assist you with nursery set-up and household organization.
Once baby arrives, we often provide postpartum support 2-3 days a week for 3-4 weeks. You may extend hours after this period as your needs change. Our care includes:

We offer extended part-time care for baby as mom transitions to work. This care eases separation for baby and reassures mom as baby is left in the hands of a familiar, caring and knowledgeable person until baby transitions to a long-term care provider.

- Mother's comfort and recovery after birth
- Assisting in or teaching you newborn care such as: supporting breastfeeding and/or bottle-feeding, soothing, bathing, diapering, cord care, reading your baby's cues (hunger, sleepiness, discomfort), carrying and baby wearing
- Helping siblings adjust if this is a subsequent child and taking care of pets
- Light housework, laundry, running errands and meal preparation
Emotional Support:
- Helping you identify and follow your own mothering instincts
- Listening and helping you process your birth or adoption story
- Supporting your parenting style
- Helping you relax, allowing time for naps, bathing and self-care
- Connecting you to the local community of new mothers and helpful resources if this is your first child.
